A downloadable game

This is a WIP page of the game Malone's Detective Adventure that I am currently designing and developing with my team.

A key feature of this game is the topic-based dialogue system (similar to the one used in Final Fantasy 2 and Morrowind). In our game, Malone (the protagonist) has a notebook, and his knowledge about the case is gathered in the form or keywords in the notebook. He can initiate dialogues with other NPCs by directly talking to them (the traditional style), but can also by selecting a keyword and ask the NPC specifically about the selected keyword, doubt reg. the keyword, or even accuse a contradiction reg. the keyword. This provides us with a unified dialogue system to do conversations, accusations, etc. This unconventional dialogue system can make the game a bit hard. Therefore, we also introduced a hint system to help the player navigating the game.

Plot:

In Malone’s Detective Adventure, players take control of Jake Malone—a private investigator. We receive a phone call late one night from a mysterious stranger who offers us a lead. Itching for work, we accept. Little do we know that the events to follow would begin to unravel a mystery involving a murdered TV host and a mysterious cult of shadowy figures.

Controls:

Movement: W/A/S/D.

Interact: Stand in front of the object, point your mouse cursor at the object you want to interact, and press F.

Talk: Stand in front of the person, point your mouse cursor at them, and press E for a casual talk or R for a keyword-based talk.

Hint: T.
